About Our Founder
– The Driving passion behind The Success Centre CIC –
From a young age, I recognised the importance of hard work and determination in overcoming challenges. While I was never a natural academic during my school years, the support of private tutoring helped me excel and achieve the Gaping Rh School’s Endeavour Award. This experience opened my eyes to the high cost of private tuition and the barriers it creates for many families.
At 16, I left school and pursued studies in ICT at college in Barnsley, while also working weekends at a campsite in Skipsea. It was during this time, at the age of 17, that I met Sarah, who later became my wife. While balancing work and family life, I completed a degree in Business Management on a part-time basis. Those were busy yet fulfilling years, marked by my marriage to Sarah and the birth of our son, Branden.
In 2015, I achieved a PGCE, further strengthening my skills as an educator. My passion for education continued to grow, leading me to complete a Master’s Degree in Education in 2021. These qualifications, coupled with my practical experience, have given me a strong foundation for supporting learners from all walks of life.
My career journey has included roles as a freelance trainer, supply teacher, and working with vulnerable children in care homes, providing one-to-one support. These experiences deepened my commitment to education and accessibility.
In September 2023, I co-founded the Success Centre, a Community Interest Company dedicated to providing affordable tuition for families. My co-founder, Joanne G, plays a vital role in supporting the business behind the scenes, ensuring our continued growth and success. Together, we share a vision to become the UK’s largest provider of home education and East Yorkshire’s leading provider of private tuition in the coming years.
Our mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically, regardless of their financial circumstances.
